Alert Items
-
If you have
changed marital status, had an ownership or rental change, added land,
or made any other changes to your
operation it is important that you give us the information so that we can update your
records otherwise it could adversely affect your insurable interest.
-
Land not planted
and harvested in one of the three previous crop years needs a
written agreement to be insurable (land
broken right after CRP is one exception as CRP is considered a crop
rotation).

July
11, 2008 the RMA announced that there will be the following policy
change for 2009: There will be a termination of the GRP
Rangeland Pilot Crop Insurance Program. The RMA recently
received budgetary approval to implement the Pasture Rangeland Forage
(PRF) Rainfall Index pilot insurance program for Montana, and plans to
do so for the 2009 crop year. Program materials should be released
within the next few weeks. It is anticipated that everyone in
Montana that wants Rangeland coverage will have to shift to the new
program which would cover rangeland as well as hay land with the
insured being able to pick and choose what acres they want to
cover. Cancellation notices will probably be issued about 30
days prior to September 30th. Producers have until November
30th to sign up for the new Pasture Rangeland and Forage Policy.
