Acreage of fall planted wheat is not insurable unless coverage is requested prior to the spring sales closing date and coverage is accepted in writing.
This county has map areas showing unclassified areas in which insurance is only possible with written agreements, so if you are seeding in a new area be sure it is classified land.
CRC and RA base prices aren't established for wheat and durum until the first week in March.
Crops and types other than these listed may possibly be insured by written agreement which needs to be requested prior to the sales closing date.
Barley StatementAny acreage planted to hay barley varieties (including, but not limited to, Haybet, Westford, Bestford, Washford, Ridawn or Horsford) is not insurable unless grown for harvest and sale as seed. Coverage for the insured crop grown using an organic farming practice is provided in this county. An organic rate factor is specified on the coverage and rate table.  Approved malting barley varieties (malt coverage requires insurance endorsement to be in effect) will include all varieties approved for malting by the American Malting Barley Association for the current crop year or any variety grown under the terms of a malting barley contract. See the definition of "malting barley contract" in the applicable malting barley price and quality endorsement.
Canola :  Insurance will not attach to any acreage on which canola, crambe, chickpeas, dry beans, mustard, rapeseed, or sunflowers have been planted in either of the preceding two crop years (three year rotation) with the exception below: For Canola in a two year rotation, canola, crambe, chickpeas, dry beans, mustard, rapeseed, or sunflowers cannot have been planted in the preceding crop year and a blackleg resistant variety (MR-R) must be planted with the insured providing proof of variety by the acreage reporting date.
Dry PeasThe following rotation statement applies to the (099) Spr LENTIL TYPE: Insurance will not attach to any acreage on which lentils were planted in either of the previous two (2) crop years or on which any broadleaf crop (the only non broadleaf crops in our area are wheat, barley, oats, and grass) was planted in the previous crop year.  The following rotation statement applies to (089) Spr AUSTRIAN,  (095) Spr FORAGE/FEED PEAS GROWN FOR SEED and to (097) Spr SMOOTH GREEN & YELLOW TYPES: Insurance will not attach to any acreage on which field peas (Austrian, Forage/Feed Peas Grown for Seed and/or Smooth Green & Yellow) were planted in either of the previous two (2) crop years or on which sunflowers were planted in the previous crop yearForage Feed Peas Grown for seed include but are not limited to varieties such as Arvika, Magna, Maple, & 4010. For the Spr SMALL KABULI CHICKPEAS or Spr DESI CHICKPEAS only ascochyta resistant varieties are insurable and insurance will not attach to any acreage on which chickpeas (garbanzo beans) have been planted in any of the three preceding crop years.  Approved Small Kabuli Chickpea Varieties: Amit (B-90),Chi Chi, Chico, and Frontier.  Varieties not approved above will be insurable only by written agreement. Seed must be treated with recommended fungicides to prevent ascochyta blight, pythium, and any other seed borne diseases. If a grower chooses to plant their own seed, or bin run seed, coverage is available ONLY if the seed has been tested by a laboratory for seed borne ascochyta blight with 0.3% or less (3/1000, 1/400) incidence of ascochyta blight present in the seed and the seed has been treated for ascochyta blight. If ascochyta blight damage has occurred in the field, the insured must provide proof that chemicals were used to control ascochyta blight in order to avoid an uninsurable cause of loss.
Forage Seeding statement:   Insurance shall attach only on forage crops planted without a companion crop or planted with a companion crop of barley, flax, oats or wheat. Barley, oats or wheat must be seeded at a rate of 16 lbs./acre or less and also must be cut for hay no later than the milk stage. Flax must be seeded at a rate of 16 lbs./ acre or less.
